A Universe of Inspiration
My journey into creating celestial-inspired jewelry wasn’t planned. It emerged organically from my creative exploration. As I often tell people, the entire collection is based on the universe. It’s based on the stars, planets, the sky... I didn’t decide to do this. The constellations kind of decided for me!
When I reflect on why cosmic imagery resonates so deeply with my artistic sensibilities, the answer becomes clear: In the universe, the entire world looks to the sky. It unites everybody all around the world. People are entranced by stars. They’re entranced by the moon; they’re entranced by planets.
In a world that can feel increasingly divided, the night sky offers a rare point of universal connection: a canopy of stars that we all share regardless of where we live, what language we speak, or what beliefs we hold. Through my jewelry, I aim to capture this unifying power of celestial wonder.
The Revelation of Color
Many people imagine space as primarily black with pinpoints of white light. My perspective transformed when I discovered the breathtaking imagery from the Hubble and Chandra telescopes. I still remember my reaction:
“Oh my God, look at the color in those images!”
These astronomical photographs revealed nebulae swirling with vibrant pinks and purples, star clusters glowing with blues and yellows, and galaxies radiating with colors far more diverse and vibrant than what we can see with the naked eye. This cosmic color palette became the foundation for my gemstone selections and design aesthetic.
Birth of the Constellation Collection
The Constellation Collection, which emerged just before the challenges of COVID, represents a pivotal moment in my creative journey. What began as the “Shooting Stars” collection evolved as I refined my vision.
This evolution wasn’t just artistic but resonated with clients in meaningful ways. The collection allows people to wear lots of clusters of gemstones, and they don’t have to be diamonds. They can just be pretty and they could go with all their clothes. And yet, it still was part of the whole universal idea.
During the isolation of lockdown, creating these pieces became my sanctuary. I really needed color, and the Constellation Collection was exactly what my soul needed to find some joy.
In translating the cosmos into wearable art, I found not only a distinctive aesthetic but also emotional sustenance.
From Cosmic Wonder to Personal Connection
Beyond the visual appeal of celestial imagery, there’s something deeply personal about wearing a piece of the cosmos. As I’ve often expressed, if you’re wearing a star, you feel good about yourself.

When I create a piece inspired by a constellation or cosmic phenomenon, I’m tapping into imagery that has fascinated humanity throughout our existence.
This cosmic connection is the one thing I can do to help unify the world. In an era of division, there’s something powerful about creating beauty inspired by the sky we all share—a reminder of our common humanity and shared place in this vast, beautiful universe.
