About Martha Seely
“I design with a contemporary sensibility, influenced by Scandinavia (my family heritage) with clean lines and minimal forms that are often understated,” says Martha. “My jewelry is always created to be wearable and not just for special occasions. It is a personal reflection of who I am, where I come from, what I have experienced along the way, and what I desire for the future.”
About Martha’s Celestial Inspiration
Martha’s fascination with the stars and sky led her to introduce several collections across the years, including Constellations, Blue Hour, and Comet.
“My jewelry pays tribute to the astounding universe in which we live – and the fact that the universe unites us all.” The designer is often inspired by the spectacular photos she sees via NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and the Chandra X-ray Observatory – both floating in the heavens and sending back mind bending images of constellations and galaxies.
In 2019, after using a palette of mostly neutrals, Martha turned to colored gemstones and, recently, colorful enamels. “What I see from observing the images created by Hubble and Chandra is incredibly colorful! Because of that, my attraction to color has released a whole explosion of new designs, using the entire range of colored gems in all varieties.”
About Our Manufacturing
The various Martha Seely collections are designed by the artist in the USA and artisan-made by a diverse team of jewelry makers, to Martha’s specifications. The designer is also pleased to customize her jewelry for individual retailers and consumer customers.
“It is extremely important to me that we protect our beautiful world and the people in it,” says Martha. As a result, she uses recycled precious metals and responsibly sourced gems, and chooses her manufacturers with care.
Her collectors appreciate contemporary design, often buy jewelry for themselves, and regard jewelry as a kind of talisman that helps them feel confident and powerful.

Artist Statement
Martha Seely jewelry is a personal reflection of who I am, where I come from, what I have experienced along the way and even what I desire for the future. The jewelry is designed with a distinct and contemporary sensibility. It is designed to be wearable and is not jewelry to only be worn for special occasions.
The newest jewelry lines – especially Constellation, Blue Hour and Comets- show how my vision has moved from earlier collections. The original jewelry was a neutral palette and featured Tahitian pearls and lustrous Akoya pearls. Over time, and my emergent passion for color, the new collections have taken precedence. Across the entire collection, I seek to take everyone on a personal exploration into the planets, stars, shooting stars, nebulae, and windswept cirrus clouds.
My jewelry pays tribute to the incredible universe in which we live – and the fact that the universe unites us all. The designs are inspired by the mind-bending photos taken by the Hubble and Chandra Telescopes and by my love of exquisitely beautiful colored gemstones from around the world, that do not need to be “precious” but just need to be beautiful.
It is also extremely important to me that we protect our beautiful world
and the people in it. My jewelry is made from recycled metals and ethically sourced magnificent jewels from around the world.
